Tattered Pawns
Harry Dresden does Middle Earth. In a world brimming with magic, Whistler stands apart. A rare endmage, he’ll never sling a spell or speak a magic word—but he can nullify even the mightiest wizard with a snap of his fingers. Little loved and often feared, he’s made his way by selling his unique gift, hunting powerful spellcasters who would use their magic to kill and conquer.
It’s...usually enough to put food in his belly. When Whistler learns that a string of deadly incidents are connected by a shadowy puppet master, Broker, it kicks off a continent-spanning chase that has him crossing swords with devils, angels, and kings, unraveling ancient secrets, and racing to catch Broker before his mysterious plans can come to fruition. Along the way, Whistler is joined by Ivy, a cocky thief with an infernal bloodline and secrets of her own, and Gruff, a mage-bred warhound who manages to be the most well-adjusted of the three despite being a quadruped. The trio fights to keep one step ahead of their quarry, even as they themselves are hunted by powerful outside forces with agendas of their own. Fun Fact: Tattered Pawns is the reason Relict exists! I set out to design a system that would let me mechanically build all the weirdo characters I write about. And now, here we are. |

The Memory Thief
The Memory Thief is my contribution to a multi-author collection of original novels in the Black Ballad Campaign Setting by Storyteller's Forge. The entire collection is funding on Backerkit in October, along with a slew of other awesome rewards - be sure to sign up for updates!
Cypress Monroe: shapeshifter, spymaster, dearly departed. Cypress went to her grave having discovered a plot to overthrow her Queen — and her paramour. Now her soul scours the realm between life and death for a way to get word to the living before it’s too late. Dimereial, an angel of redemption, has an offer for Cypress. Relieve a few fellow souls of their worst memories before they shuffle on, and Cypress can be put before the right people in time to save her beloved. Memory theft is a heinous crime in Nox Valar; but if it’s done to save the living and dead alike, what’s the harm? Rasa’s first memory, her only memory, is crashing to the Ashen Fields, a flash of screaming soulfire and momentous impact. Then she was fighting, beset by tattered shadows that clawed and scratched and wailed as she tore their essence from them. Secan, a shepherd of lost souls, found her there. Amidst a mound of sundered undead, he inherited his hardest task yet: trying to guide a soul that doesn’t know itself. |
Relict Game Books
The Game Master's Worldbook
My bestseller! This book contains the best tools and templates I ever made for myself to make writing, worldbuilding, and GMing easier. The first time I took it to a convention, my whole stock sold out. Only the rules reference section is Relict-specific; everything else in here could be used for any worldbuilding or GMing project! This workbook has over 200 pages of categorized note space, reference material, and brainstorming prompts to help tabletop Game Masters build, run, and organize their game worlds. Create settlements, NPCs, and quests with ease, track your player's character histories, keep a log of your group's sessions, plan encounters and quests, and more! The organizational tools and note space in this book should be suitable not just for Relict games, but for any system or creative project that involves worldbuilding. This book can be filled out ahead of time and used as a "world bible," filled out over time to keep track of the world's canon as it's established, or (my preference), a bit of both. Book Sections:

The Relict RPG Starter Book
This 50-page illustrated reference book contains a condensed version of the Core Rules and Running The Game sections of the Relict system, plus eight Premade Characters. The Starter Book is ideal as an easy reference during gameplay, as a quick-start aid for players/Game Masters who want to try the system out without doing a deep dive on the site, and for fans who want to buy a physical Relict book to support the system. Please note that this book does not entirely eliminate the need to access the website by itself - but that request has been heard, and it's in the works! Items like this are a stepping stone that keep the lights on while I build up to bigger offerings. IMPORTANT! If you backed the Kickstarter, you've already got an expanded version of this book on the way! Don't pay twice! (Unless you really want to). |
The Adventurer's Journal
Create, organize, and manage up to eight different Relict characters with this incredibly useful journal! Each section of this book contains a character sheet, backstory worksheet, damage and affliction chart, inventory pages, and TONS of room for freeform session notes. Also included is a quick reference section containing all of the most-often looked-up rules for players, letting you focus on the game and not digging through multiple browser tabs for a rule check between turns. |
Adventure Module: Hunger at the House of Healing
Our first official adventure module! Hunger at the House of Healing is designed to be a short-to-medium length adventure (3-6 hours, depending on player choices), suitable for starting-level player characters. There’s no hard limit on party size, but expect the encounters to work best with three to five players, plus the GM. This adventure should work well as a kickoff adventure for a new campaign, a “drop-in” quest for an existing party of adventurers, or as a self-contained sample adventure for new players and GMs who are interested in trying Relict for the first time. If you were a Kickstarter backer, HatHoH is already in your inbox! Content Warning. This is a horror-themed module that deals with death, disease, outbreaks, injuries, and vampires. Potentially disturbing content includes the witnessed or implied harm to animals (horses) and children; particularly regarding the character of Bonnie, whom the players may come into conflict with. If this is inappropriate for your table, little is lost by changing that character’s age to an adult for your playthrough. |

I'll be honest, I...haven't quite figured out what to do with this thing. We have a handful of diehard supporters on there (woo!) but the various reward schemes I've explored haven't really garnered much interest. But if you'd like to support Relict via this path, it is available - and I'm open to ideas! |
